This two day class will cover all the basics of natural dyeing. We will be dyeing wool, silk and cotton with a variety of different natural dyes. We will cover scouring your fibers (deep washing), applying tannins for cotton (cellulose) fiber, mordanting, and, of course dying in the dye bath.

I have a rainbow shaped dye garden growing in my front yard, which is where we will be doing the class.

Each participant is welcome to bring things that they want to put into the dye bath and will take home a collection of various shades of colors on fabric.

Materials will be provided.
