September 3 : Earth Pigment watercolor paint class
September 3 : Earth Pigment watercolor paint class
September 3, 12pm-4pm
(This class was formerly going to be a two day class, but I have shortened it to one day)
Bakersville, NC (exact location to be shared with those who register)
This class will go over the basics of creating watercolor paint with earth pigments. Earth pigments are pigments made from grinding up rocks and dirt from the earth. There are many areas where there are beautiful colors in the clay and dirt that can be ground up and made into pigment that can then be used in anything that one would add pigment to (watercolor paint, oil paint, encaustic paint, crayons, egg tempera paint, etc.).
We will be using some dirt and rocks that I collected in New Mexico, and we will also be collecting some local color as well.
I will be providing some shared materials.
Material list to bring:
disposable palette
mortar and pestle
watercolor brushes
watercolor sketchbook
*If this class is cost prohibitive and you would still really like to attend, please reach out to me. I would like for it to be accessible for as many people as possible.*
