This sweet little encaustic painting is meant to bring a little joy to a small space. Encaustic paintings are made by layering melted pigmented beeswax and damar resin and fusing each layer together with heat. This painting has been lightly carved back into with sewing thread to reveal the hidden colored layers beneath the surface.

The paint is fused into a square piece of wood from a recycled pallet.
